Verdigris

VERDIGRIS is the color of the patina on copper surfaces. Its noble green, interspersed with gray particles, is reminiscent of the salt that the ocean wind brings to the roofs of Mediterranean houses. The classic citrus freshness plays only a supporting role here—where the proud Italian lemons and oranges usually take center stage, here they form only a subtle background. VERDIGRIS deconstructs the classic chypre and brilliantly recomposes its traditional elements. The silky floral bouquet—freesia, rose, and mignonette—is permeated by spicy notes of nutmeg and coriander. Against their backdrop, the wet, shimmering calone is transparent, almost white. Not sweet, yet appetizing. Expressive, though woody, but only subtly. Ethereal, yet loud. VERDIGRIS, salt as icy as snow.
